How to Make Brushing Fun with the SoFresh Kids Toothbrush

Quick Answer

To make brushing fun for your child, use the SoFresh Kids Toothbrush and turn brushing into a game with songs, timers, and a consistent routine.

Steps to Make Brushing Fun

1. Let your child choose their toothbrush: Take your child to the store or browse online and let them pick their favorite color of the SoFresh Kids Toothbrush. This gives them a sense of ownership and makes them more excited to use it. When the toothbrush arrives, let your child open the package and name their toothbrush to boost the connection.
2. Create a two-minute brushing song or playlist: Find or create a song that lasts about two minutes. Play it every time you brush. The song signals the start and end of brushing, and the rhythm helps your child brush a different section of the mouth for each verse or chorus. If your child finishes before the song ends, start the song again and guide them to the spots they missed.
3. Use a sticker chart to track brushing: Create a simple chart with a space for each day. After every successful brushing session, your child places a sticker on the chart. After a week of consistent brushing, reward them with a small non-food treat like a trip to the park or extra storytime. Keep the chart visible in the bathroom as a daily reminder and a source of pride.
4. Brush together as a family: Brush your own teeth at the same time as your child. Kids learn by imitation, and seeing you brush makes it a normal, shared activity rather than a solo chore. Use the same two-minute song so you finish together. Use the mirror to show your child your own brushing technique and let them copy you.
5. Turn brushing into a game of 'find the sugar bugs': Tell your child that brushing is a mission to remove 'sugar bugs' hiding on their teeth. Use a flashlight or a mirror to spot them (plaque) and let your child 'hunt' them with their toothbrush. This makes the process interactive and goal-oriented. After brushing, have your child smile in the mirror and declare the sugar bugs gone to reinforce the win.
